Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing
It don't worry 'bout where it's going, no, no
Don't fly, mister blue bird, I'm just walking down the road
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way
Turn your love my way, yeah

Good old Sunday morning, bells are ringing everywhere
Going to Carolina, it won't be long and I'll be there

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way
Turn your love my way, yeah

Probably my favorite A-Bros tune!!
Just love the melody and the opening riff does it for me every time. There are a few late 80s versions that I've heard where Dicky starts off with a few minutes of Franklin's Tower and segues right into Blue Sky. Pretty cool homage from one R&R icon to another!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Maybe it was a mind left body jam because every time I would here a tape of Jerry and Duane jamming it was an out of body experience.
It is in the mid 80's temp wise here in Florida today so Blue Sky is just what I am humming around town this last Sunday before Christmas.

a day late...and many dollars short, but here's another take on Sunday morning

Well I woke up Sunday morning,
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes,
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
An' I shaved my face and combed my hair,
An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

Does God look down on the boys in the barroom,
Mainly forsaken but surely not judged.
Jacks, kings, and aces, their faces in wine,
Do lord deliver our kind.
From singing for whiskey three strings on the fiddle,
Four on the guitar and a song that I love.
Many's the night we spent picking and singing,
In hopes it be pleasing both here and above.
Jack's string fiddle to my sawtooth bow,
Who loves loneliness loves it alone.
I love the dim lights like some love the dew,
Only thing I wonder sometimes:
Does God look down on the boys in the barroom,
Mainly forsaken but surely not judged.
Jacks, kings, and aces, their faces in wine,
Do lord deliver our kind.
